So I snagged this album as suggested recently by Alarm, with promises of mathy goodness abound. It’s not the most mathy album ever, but it’s still super original and very well executed. It’s a bit technical, kinda catchy, really fucking groovy, and mostly instrumental. When these guys DO bust out some vocal work, it’s almost always presented in the form of catchy-ass gang vocal goodness, and it works soooo damn well. It can get a little stale from time to time, but seriously, bonus points for creativity, mother fuckers.
overall rating: kinda rulz.
